Hydrothermal Catalytic Conversion

Our process utilizes nitrogen-rich biowaste—a renewable resource generated from agricultural processing and food industries. Through a proprietary hydrothermal catalytic conversion process, we transform these protein structures into the cyclic amides and lactams required for nylon production.

  • Hydrothermal Processing: Proteins undergo hydrolysis, deamination, and cyclization in water to form nitrogen-containing intermediates.
  • Low-temperature process: Similar to AC Biode´s Plastalyst, organic waste is broken down at temperatures of around 200° in water. Catalysts can be reused and finally reactivated using established processes.
  • Circular Economy: This method utilizes under-exploited bio-residues to support low-carbon chemical manufacturing. We convert complex organic moleecules into smaller lactams, the building blocks for Nylon 4, 5, and 6.
